Les Chambres d’hôtes Les Berthiers has been welcoming holidaymakers since 1988.
This 19th century mansion is typical of the beautiful tourangelles farms of that time. Around a large traditional square courtyard, it is surrounded by several outbuildings from the 18th century.
Rustic, it has kept many facets of its origins. The façade is made of tufa ashlar, the local stone, which naturally isolates from heat in summer and cold in winter. The tommettes of the rooms are from 1850 and those of the breakfast room from 1920.
A virgin vine covers it, and refreshes it in the summer. Slates name the many plants and trees, like botanical garden. Rabbits, frogs and fish are just waiting to be visited, as well as the small wood in front of the estate. For a longer walk, hikes are marked in the village, along ancient paths, including a Roman road.
